I am a freelance writer, editor and image-maker based in London. I hold a BA (Hons) in Illustration from the University of Westminster and an MA in Design Writing Criticism from the London College of Communication, and began my career on the editorial team of Grafik magazine, before moving into design management and production. I am a Visiting Lecturer on the BA Graphic Design & Illustration course at the University of Hertfordshire, working with students at Levels 4, 5 & 6.
I write about graphic design, illustration, type design and contemporary and historic print culture. Through my writing, I aim to explore creative and critical ideas within graphic design and visual culture, to highlight points of convergence between disciplines, and to interrogate methodologies within contemporary design practice.
As a copywriter and communications consultant, the services I offer include the writing of website and portfolio copy, press releases, pitches, presentations and social media posts. I provide consultancy on all aspects of communications for creative businesses, including the scheduling, planning and orchestrating of press activities, and the development of holistic approaches to communications in the context of the contemporary design studio.
